Sri Lanka’s Cabinet has approved a proposal for the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Australia’s Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).


The partnership aims to strengthen research, technical expertise and professional development opportunities for NWSDB staff.


Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said the collaboration will support Sri Lanka’s long-term goals in improving water security, infrastructure development and technical capacity.


The NWSDB and RMIT had already held discussions before reaching an agreement, leading to Cabinet approval for the proposed partnership.
