South-East Queensland Braces for More Severe Storms and Flooding

Residents across south-east Queensland have been warned to prepare for further severe weather on Monday, with damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall expected.
The Bureau of Meteorology has cancelled earlier severe thunderstorm warnings for Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Scenic Rim, the Gold Coast and Redland City. However, forecasters say further dangerous storms could develop in the coming hours.
Weather reporter Carla Tooma warned that the region could face another day of severe thunderstorms, bringing strong winds, large hailstones and intense rainfall.
Queensland has experienced widespread heavy rain over the past week. Some areas in the south-east have recorded more than 200mm, while parts of the Sunshine Coast hinterland have received up to 500mm.
The Bureau has warned of possible severe thunderstorms across a broad area stretching from Coffs Harbour in northern New South Wales to the south-east Queensland coast.
Heavy rainfall has also caused major flooding, with warnings remaining in place for the Mary, Condamine and Warrego rivers.
The State Emergency Service (SES) has responded to 67 incidents since Sunday afternoon. In Warwick, a woman was rescued from her car after driving into floodwaters at about 3.25am on Monday.
Emergency services are urging residents to take precautions as dangerous conditions continue. People should secure doors and windows, park vehicles under cover and away from trees, keep mobile phones charged, and move pets to safe locations.
Residents with asthma are also advised to keep their medication readily available, as storms can trigger attacks.
Authorities have warned motorists to avoid driving through floodwaters or travelling in dangerous conditions unless absolutely necessary.
