NSW motorists are set to receive cost-of-living relief, with private vehicle registration fees to be cut by up to $100 under the state budget.
The $435 million measure will apply to around 4.4 million vehicles, while motorcycle owners will receive an $80 registration discount. Caravans and trailers are not included.
The government is also reducing the weekly toll cap from $60 to $50 for 12 months from July 6, 2026. Drivers who already receive toll relief could save an extra $520 a year, while around 200,000 more toll accounts are expected to become eligible.
From July, toll administration fees will also be removed, saving motorists at least $10 per notice and ending a charge that cost drivers millions each year.
Premier Chris Minns said the changes are aimed at reducing pressure on families who rely on roads every day for work, school and daily travel.
