If you're heading out on Melbourne's West Gate Freeway, brace yourself for some serious delays. A crash involving two motorcycles has caused a major hold-up, with four of the five outbound lanes shut down just before the Williamstown Road exit.
Traffic is already queuing back before the Bolte Bridge, and drivers are being warned to expect delays of up to 55 minutes.
If you’re leaving the CBD, your best bet is to detour through Footscray—take Footscray or Dynon roads, then hop back on the freeway via Williamstown Road, Millers Road, or Geelong Road.
For those coming from Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs, it might be worth heading north of the CBD to dodge the gridlock on the West Gate.
Paramedics are already on the scene, and Victoria Police are expected to provide more details soon.
If you’re on the road, stay safe and plan ahead!
