Qantas has been named the world’s most punctual major airline for June 2026, according to aviation data from OAG.
The airline achieved an 87.16% on-time arrival rate across more than 22,000 flights, finishing ahead of major international carriers. The result marks a significant turnaround after Qantas ranked much lower in the years following the pandemic.
Qantas has steadily improved its performance throughout 2026, climbing from third place in January to the top position in June. The airline is also preparing to expand services through Western Sydney International Airport and plans to launch its nonstop Sydney–London Project Sunrise flights in October 2027.
Meanwhile, SriLankan Airlines is continuing to strengthen its operational reliability. Although it is not currently ranked among the world's top 10 airlines for punctuality, the carrier previously held the global number one position for on-time performance and recorded a solid 85.57% on-time rate in early 2026.
As international travel continues to recover, airlines are placing greater emphasis on punctuality, with reliable schedules becoming an increasingly important factor for travellers.
