CPC Seek Investors for Mannar Basin Natural Gas Resources

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) will begin the process this month to attract investors for the exploration and use of natural gas resources in the Mannar Basin.
CPC Managing Director Dr. Mayura Neththikumara said the presence of natural gas in the basin has been scientifically confirmed by the Sri Lanka Petroleum Development Authority.
The investor selection process will proceed with the approval of the relevant Procurement Committee.
Potential investors will be given around five months to submit their proposals.
The move is aimed at taking Sri Lanka’s Mannar Basin gas resources towards commercial development and strengthening the country’s future energy options.
