Sri Lanka’s Exports Surpass US$12 Billion in First Eight Months

Sri Lanka’s total export earnings have exceeded US$12 billion during the first eight months of 2026, according to the Export Development Board (EDB).

Export revenue from January to August increased by 4.26 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Sri Lanka earned US$11.52 billion from exports during the first eight months of 2025.

The latest growth was supported by both goods and services exports.

Merchandise exports increased by 3.63 per cent, while services exports grew by 6.59 per cent.

The figures indicate continued growth in Sri Lanka’s export sector, with services recording the stronger performance during the period.
