The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne will host a community event to celebrate Sri Lanka’s 78th Independence Day, uniting the Sri Lankan diaspora in Australia in recognition of national pride.

The celebration will be held on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Box Hill Town Hall, 1022 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill, Victoria. The event will commemorate Sri Lanka’s independence and showcase the nation’s history, heritage, and cultural identity.

A dress code of National Dress or Lounge Suit has been specified. Those wishing to attend are requested to RSVP via email to mail@slcgmel.org by the date mentioned on the invitation.
