Australia Post is gearing up for one of its busiest times of the year, with plans to hire more than 3,500 extra workers ahead of Christmas.
With major sales events like Black Friday just around the corner, the postal giant is looking for forklift operators, van and truck drivers, and parcel sorters to help handle the holiday rush.
Victoria has the biggest need, with 1,000 roles up for grabs, while NSW and Queensland are each looking to fill around 900 positions.
Australia Post’s Sue Davies said the extra seasonal workers are vital to keeping things moving.
“Last year, we delivered almost 103 million parcels in the lead-up to Christmas, thanks to the help of our seasonal team members,” she said. “Our ability to deliver parcels quickly and reliably depends on the hard work and commitment of every individual we bring on board.”
The company already employs about 64,000 people and has more than 4,000 locations across the country. In the 2024 financial year, it reported $9 billion in revenue.
So if you’re looking for a short-term job over the festive season, Australia Post might just have a spot for you.
